Description

Incomplete, thin square Dutch Delft tile of white glaze with blue decoration. Composite object made of two separate tiles; about one third of a square tile present. Both pieces have 'barred ox-head' corner decoration and a round border that does not match up. The scene of the larger fragment depicts a ground with bushes and possibly a set of footprints.

Description (Physical description)
For Z 16500 [.1-8]: 'Five whole tiles, three showing scenes of crucifixion. A further whole tile shows someone being flogged. The fifth whole tile shows a hunting scene. Three of these tiles have been glued back together. There are also three portions of tiles, which have been glued together from various pieces.'

Context (Analysis)
One fragment from Z 16480 H (no. 37, bagged separately) seems to be a match for the larger fragment of tile in Z 16500.8; and would go in the place of the piece of tile incorrectly matched and adhered to it.
