Description (Physical description)
Mortar of copper alloy. Wide everted and bevelled rim that curves outwards; ridged band below rim; straight body; ridged band at the bottom with a flat base. Sides are decorated with four embossed medallions of a figure, possibly Charles I, with no facial features but long hair, surrounded by an ornate frame. They are separated by four equally spaced vertical protrusions, possibly lug handles, with a V-cut out and sloping profile.
