Context (Analysis)
Comparanda suggest the extant part of the central decorative roundel depicts an architectural background, with the diagonal grid representing a tiled floor. There are complete tiles surviving with such a background that show Biblical scenes, such as Christ with the money lenders. These date to the 18th century.
