Description
Head fragment from a handmade female figurine. She wears a headdress, perhaps a turban, decorated with diagonal incisions and overlapping applied pellets on one side. Face has prominent modelled brows that join in the middle to form a 'V'-shape; wide eyes with punctations as pupils; pointed nose; straight, slightly open mouth; and almost pointed chin. Small ears. Orange in colour; with remnants of applied red surface coloration, possibly cinnabar. Type D.
