Description

Stone axe. Biconvex, with a rounded cutting edge, and bevelled surfaces with flake scars visible; bevelled sides with a lenticular cross-section; rounded, pointed butt. Polished surfaces, with small patches of possible cortex remaining on the sides; one surface has a deep chip in it. Grey stone, marbled with darker grey, and orange veins.

Polished stone celts, symmetrically ground, of flattened petaloid, ovate or sub-rectangular form, made from grey or brown jade pebbles, or rarely black lava, retaining little or no cortex. Range of length between 2.3 to 6.5 cm.
