Description (Physical description)
Adze, possibly made of shale, with partially ground faces and partially polished sides. Trapezoid in shape, with a diagonal cutting edge, possibly broken, and a squared butt. Cross section is thick and sub-rectangular.

Context (Amendments / updates)
This object is marked with two accession numbers: 1899.13 b and 1898.611 B. The object was accessioned on 25th January 1899, and entered into the accession register as 1899.13 b. However, a note added to the accession register reads: '(1899) [but included in the 1898 list]'. The accession numbers were consequently amended on 23/01/1980, with 1899.13 b being changed to 1898.611 B. The accession number and MAA number fields have been updated accordingly.
