Description (Labels & Markings)
Handwritten note accompanying objects reads: '?Pipers Hill (uncertain spelling) is on the east side of the Chettisham Littleport road where the causeway with white railings starts.' and 'Strike a light or Tribulum tooth industry. From restricted area just inside gate from main Chettisham-Littleport toad into field abutting upon south-east edge of 'Piper's Hill' (see 1 inch O.S. P..? series map). No sherds. A probably Roman gravel road is covered by the modern road at this point. ?Gordon Fowler.'
