Description

Head and neck of a terracotta figurine in the form of a horse or hippocampus. The figure has: a pointed ridge for the mane; pointed ears, broken at the tips; eyes in the form of an oval disc surrounded by a raised ring of clay, with a small circle of clay in the outer corner of each eye; flared nostrils, marked with indentations; a deeply incised line for the mouth; incised lines outlining the eyes, the sides of the nose, and the base of the head; a ridge down the neck, below the chin; a small front right leg, bent in half. Pink-buff fabric. Possibly part of an animal-shaped vessel.
