Accompanied with a note written by Anita Herle while working as an exhibition assistant beefore she was appointed curator ,'Found in the bottom of a box with Australian material. No catalogue numbers. The top pieces if made of cassowar feathers. Melanesia? , P.N.G? (A.C. Herle Dec. 1990).'

Description (Physical description)
Hand written paper label stuck to card notes 'Necklace worn by Australians. Made of shell and interesting as illustrating the use of circular pieces of cardium or [?] pectunculus[?] found in the Solomons and at [?] Antigua [may read 'Aurigna']. Bought from a dealer at Folkstone.'
