Description
Paper kite in the shape of a butterfly. Five pieces of cane crossed over each other to form the frame. The kite is painted with green, red, yellow, black and blue pigment. On both wings there are two thin pieces of red, blue, orange, green and yellow tissue paper which act as streamers. A piece of thread is attached to the middle piece of cane for suspension.

It is possible that this kite is part of the Skeat collection. In the annual report, the Skeat collection (Z 33508, Skeat I: 640-654) lists 15 kites from South East Asia, however there are only 10 record on the database. This kite needs to be compared to those in the Skeat collection to determine their provenance.
