Contents: surgical dusting powder, olive oil, iodine, castor oil, boric acid, potassium permanganate, potassium chlorate and borax, quinine, aspirin, Dover's powder etc., in bottles; some empty.'

Description for 1979.651.1-19: 'Metal medicine chest. Prepared in Europe for use in Africa. Owned by A. R. D. Simpson in Zaire. The black rectangular tin (.1) has two small handles on each side and a latch at the front. Inside is a removable tray, underneath are 17 compartments for storing medical jars.'

The removable tray contains:
(.2) Small circular metal tin of Valda Pastilles.
(.3) Tall cylindrical tin with a rounded lid containing 'SORO-CHLORETONE (Surgical Dusting Powder).
(.4) Metal plate with two long cylinderical glass bottles held in brackets. One is 'Olive Oil', the other 'Pure Castor Oil'.
(.5) Narrow cylindrical glass bottle with muslin covering the opening, containing: 'TENTURE D'IODE'.

Stored in the bottom of the medical box are 14 medical containers:

Description (Physical description)
Rectangular glass jar for storing Dover Powder with a glass stopper lid. The jar is empty. The paper label reads: 'Compressed tablets, No. 23. Dover Powder. (Compound Powder of Ipecauanha, B.P.). 5 Grains (0'325 GM.). Dose: 1to 3 tablets. POISON. Exempt fro D.D.A. regulations. Parke, Davis & Co, London.'. Stamped in red: '612777E'.
