Pot of red ware with everted rim, shouldered body and flat base. Decorated above the shoulder with linear markings, incised with pointed stick. Two horizontal bands filled with vertical rows of short lines. Areas blackened by firing. Sections of base missing.

Catalogue card description for 1948.2353 A-B reads: 'A: Ovate pot of red-brown ware, very smooth and burnished. Flat base, (which is blackened in firing) neck, narrower than base, very slightly flaring lip. Band of pattern made with pointed stick round the shoulder, consisting of five marks set in rows between parallel lines. Diameter of mouth 1 5/8".
B: Similar shaped pot, but slightly taller and thinner. Burnishing worn off, and the pot darker in colour, and blackened by firing. Diameter of mouth 1 2/8". Pattern consisting of rows of seven marks set between parallel lines.'
