A: The cover has a brown point. The basket has a wide flat base and almost straight sides; of rather coarse coiling (compared with the others). Oblique step pattern, from top to bottom of the body, made by black wrapping on an overlaid black foundation (see 48.2320 A)...'

The presence of the text 'G 8' written on both '1948.2318 A.1' and 'Z 23090', as well as the similarity in description, suggests that historically 'Z 23090' may have been part of '1948.2318 A', i.e. the cover (1948.2318 A.2). This requires further investigation into the 'G' numbering system prior to confirmation.
