Description
Shallow ovular seed tray of woven plant fibre, with a thickened rim of wood wrapped with natural colour plant fibre, possibly cane. Formed of two layers; the upper layer has red warps and narrow wefts with a zigzag pattern of natural colour on a red background; the base layer has broad warps and narrow wefts, both of natural colour.

Catalogue card for 1948.2329 A-B: 'Two circular seed trays of fine double wicker-work, the outside and inside of the same fineness of weave. Both have broad red-stained warps inside, and natural coloured ones, outside, with fine wefts. B: Reinforced border of wrapped bundle of strands. Inside pattern of red acute triangles woven in, in the same manner as A.'
