Description (Physical description)
Knife with an iron handle inlaid with ivory. The blade has a curved back and cutting edge, with a fuller near to the back. The blade is set into an iron bound handle; ivory has ring decoration, some filled with red pigment.

Context (Amendments / updates)
In the Accession Register the Duncan bequest was entered as originating from ‘Portuguese East Africa’ (now Mozambique). This was later corrected to ‘Nyasaland’ (now Malawi). The latter has been retained as the main place for this object, but all geographical places associated with the object are listed in the Production field.
