Description (Physical description)
Knife with a metal blade and a brass wire bound handle. The knife is long and thin with a sharply tapered point and midrib. The tang has a circular cross-section and is set into the handle. The handle has a carved pommel decorated with ridges.

Context (Amendments / updates)
In the Accession Register the Duncan bequest was entered as originating from ‘Portuguese East Africa’ (now Mozambique). This was later corrected to ‘Nyasaland’ (now Malawi). The latter has been retained as the main place for this object, but all geographical places associated with the object are listed in the Production field.
