Description (Physical description)
Description for 1948.2308 A-C: 'Two conical covers of coiled basket-work, one of wicker-work.
A: Fine, regular coiling. Plain except for a brown point.
B: Brown stripes encircling the cover, which is more funnel-shaped, and has a brown point.
C: Made from a single thick cylindrical cane split mant times so as to form a cone of warps. These woven together by simple 'under and over' of reed, the edges finished off by the ends of the warps being tucked in and bound over with reed. The point is the end of the reed cut off, and shaped slightly.'
