Context (Analysis)
It is possible that these are the beads referred to by I.H.N. Evans in 'On Ancient Remains from Kuala Selinsing, Perak' (Journal of the Federated Malay States Museums, vol. 12, p. 123). The section in question reads: 'In May, 1924, Mr. B.W.F. Barnard, then Deputy Conservator of Forrests, Perak North, sent me a number of skulls and ten cornelian beads, together with a few other beads in green, red and blue glass or paste and a rough piece of blue glass. He informed me that all these objects had been discovered on the sea-shore near Kuala Selinging, North Perak and that the local tradition said that there had been a pirate village there.'
