Label found in box reads: 'Romano-British Cremation Burial. 2nd Century A.D. One of four Romano-British burial discovered during the excavation of the pagan Anglo-Saxon cemetery on the site of Girton College. They were no doubt the family grave belonging to a Roman villa somewhere in the neighbourhood. See: "The Anglo-Saxon Cemetery at Girton College" (Cambridge 1925) by E.J. Hollingworth and M.M. O'Reilly, page 32, plates xi and xii.'
