Context (Amendments / updates)
Z 13263 A is a basket lid and Z 13263 B is a basket, the lid [A] does not fit the basket [B]. Both shared the accession number Z 13263 as well as the same Thomas Collection 1st catalogue number '1950'. Confusion has arisen as the Thomas Catalogue notes only 1 basket whilst the Accession Register notes 2 baskets, and the catalogue card has been amended to read 'baskets' instead of 'basket'. Both objects have their own Thomas collection labels that give them separate indigenous names. The decision was taken to assign the objects A and B suffixes and retain the shared accession number. A third basket was found stored with Z 13263 A-B but does not have any labels or accession markings. The decision was taken to assign a temporary number to the third basket: TEMP.01936.
