Context (Amendments / updates)
Two objects with this IDNO have been found. Both are beans threaded on string. On one, the old label tied to object reads 'pakpahumaga, made of ikpe fruit and owu (cotton) kukuamku (1001)'. This bean was found in box EM 965. The other bean has a label which notes only "Toy Okpe" This was found in box EM 966. Both now stored together.

The Thomas Collection 1st Catalogue for Thomas Collection number 1001 [Z 12631] does not specify two objects. From the labels corresponding to both object it appears that one of the toys is from Uzebba [Ijeba] and the other toy is from Okpe. The brown luggage label found with Z 12631 reads: '[A]pakpahumaga, made of ikpe fruit and owu (cotton) kukuamku (1001)'. This corresponds to the catalogue. Whilst the other toy has a label which reads: 'Toy Okpe', this does not correspond to the catalogue and thus the decision was made to assign a temporary number to this object: TEMP.01930.
