Letter attached to back of card says "Dear Dr. Bushnell, I return herewith the Jericho Tomb J.1 scarabs with very many thanks. At some stage, I don' t know whether with you or us, the numbers have got mixed. In the case of those drawn already, they could be sorted out, i.e. 57 should be 78, 77 should be 58, 58 should be 77, 75 be 60, 76 be 59, 78 be 57. The others unfortunately have not been drawn, so cannot be sorted out. Yours sincerely, K.M.Kempu"

Scarab made of faience; semi-oval in shape and decorated with a grooved design on the flat face. Carved scarab on the curved face. Hole bored longitudinally through the centre.
