Sealed envelope. Hand-written note at the front: 'Kikuyu. Mukuyu made from ashes of the roots of a tree of that name. Medicine for gonorrhoea. It is not eaten but a little is applied to the throat [illegible] then toes, navel, buttocks [illegible] loins, forehead + in 2 days the patient will be cured.'
