Description (Physical description)
Diagonally woven plant fibre basket with lid. The basket and lid both have a square base and circular rim reinforced with plant fibre. Decorated with horizontal purple and orange striped bands. The base of the basket and top of the lid are decorated with an orange and purple square.

Z 21257 B is a basket lid with a similar pattern of colours as the lid marked 1926.84 C (which was formerly assigned the accession no. Z 21257 A). Z 21257 B is smaller than the lid for 1926.84 C. It is possible that Z 21257 B was acquired with, or originates from the same place as, 1926.84 C.

Context (Amendments / updates)
During the Stores Move project (2020-2025), a basketry lid with the accession number Z 21257 A was found to be marked with the number '26.84 C'. The lid has the same pattern and colours as the basket labelled 1926.84 C. The basket and lid have therefore been reunited, and the accession number changed to 1926.84 C.1-2 to reflect the two parts of the object. The description and number fields have been updated accordingly.
