Sealed envelope 'On his Majesty's Service', originally addressed to '[illegible] Baker Esq. The Homestead. Nairobi'. Reused to enclose indigenous medicine. Hand-written note at the back: 'Kikuyu. "Muchanja Muka" made from the leave of tree of that name. If a person is suffering from a disease called Ngowa which is apparently a species of temporary madness a little of this medicine taken with oil cures the patient.'
