Description
Four arrows with wooden shafts, each fletched with trimmed feathers bound to the shaft with thread which has been coated in decoratively painted wax. Each arrow has a flared socket wrapped in hide. Two have broad, triangular iron heads with long shanks; the other two heads are missing.

Catalogue card description for 1956.142[.1-5]: 'Self bow, 50" long, tapering gently to both ends. Four arrows, with white wood shaft, triple feathering, apparently separate ?hock neatly bound. Feather binding extends 3-3 1/2 ins beyond feathers towards tip and bears designs in red, with black sparingly used. Triangular head and foreshaft of iron in one piece, inserted into wedge, which is in its turn is inserted into bound shaft end. Length of head 6 ins, total length 25-26 ins.
