Description
Dart quiver, gourd and darts. Quiver is made from a bamboo cylinder with plaited string handle; three darts wrapped with cotton and a large number of leaves inside. Gourd with narrow neck is attached to the quiver with a strip of cane and lengths of string; filled with cotton wool which is accessed through a circular hole around which is painted a flower design.

Catalogue card reads, 'Two blow pipe quivers ostensibly made for the tourist market, consisting of hollow wooden tubes in which the darts are placed, and an attached gourd in which raw cotton for binding one end of the darts is kept. Bought from Indian who collected such items from the Oriente area from Jivaro Indians and traded them in Quito. Presented by G.W.S.V. Rumble'.
