Catalogue card for 1991.178 A-S: '19 modelled and painted dough heads, some decorated with sparkles, with small handles at bottom. The heads or ' Caritas para pan de muerto' are baked into round loaves of ' pan de muerto' or bread of the dead. The bread is used as an offering on the household altar or is be given as a gift in the household exchanges common during the festival........ C) Angel face with large ornamented green hat.....'

Description (Physical description)
Caritas para pan de muerto. Painted dough head with handle, made from Pan de Muerto ('Bread of the Dead'), made as a gift or altar offering during Day of the Dead celebrations. Features an angel head wearing a large green hat with pink and yellow decoration. Section missing from lower left side of hat.
