Description (Physical description)
Papel picado. Piece of perforated tissue paper made for Day of the Dead. Paper features a horizontal design of two skeletons kissing under trees. Edges are zig-zagged, and a floral design is along bottom. Pink in colour, which represents joy and reunion. Made by punching out the design with sharp chisels on up to fifty sheets of tissue at one time. The holes in each paper allows for the souls of the deceased to travel through and visit.
