Description (Physical description)
Catalogue card for 1962.308 A-C: ' "Sopladeras", or fans for blowing fires. More or less square, of twilled basketry, set diamond-wise on a handle made by plaiting the ends of some of the constituent warps and wefts together. Made of strips of a liana called 'bena'. A: Texture differentiation between warps and wefts by using smooth side of material for one, rough for the other. B: Difference between warps and wefts as A, but outside colour is brown. A few interior warps painted red. C: cf. B, but the colour contrasts are obtained by irregular distribution of dark and light liana strips'.
