Context (Acquisition Details)
A handwritten note found with Z 34910 reads: 'Baskets, clay models, [word illegible] etc. from Colombia. Miss Cisneros, 1910'. It is likely that these objects are the 'clay models' referred to and were thus given to the Museum in 1910.

Description for Z 40492 A-J:' 9 seated pottery figures with open mouths and narrow eyes. Black/burnt area on face. A: figure holding a rounded pot with hands and feet. Neck broken and repaired. B: figure with legs crossed, and right hand on left foot, and left hand on left leg. C: figure with extending arms proffering an item, now missing. D: figure holding a round pot with hands and supported on extended legs. Line of three holes on top of nose. Legs and hands, and right shoulder damaged and repaired. E: figure with left hand on left leg and right hand on right leg. Left foot missing. F: figure with straightened legs- right hand on right leg, and left hand on left leg. Series of 6 holes on top of head extending down surface of the nose G: figure with hands on knees and series of 3 holes on surface of nose. Hands broken and repaired. H: figure holding a bowl in left hand, and right hand in bowl, in a stirring position. With pointed ears/horns? on top/side of head. Right arms broke and repaired at shoulder. J: figure with crossed legs and left hand on stomach. The wide open mouth suggests laughter. left knee broken and repaired.'
