Context (Amendments / updates)
On rear of catalogue card in pencil: "This collection of items may be unique. We have searched every major museum in USA & Europe for examples of Tami made shell beads and this is the first positive identification we have found. We were aware from a visit to the islands of the type of shell used and we have seen lengths of the beads often referred to as Siassi or Manus or West New Britain beads.
