Context (Amendments / updates)
Place field updated to 'Asia; South Asia; India; Northeast India; ?Manipur' based on examples of skirts from this region with the same design at the edge and striped fabric. There do not seem to be similar examples in museums, but this field has been updated based on research on the internet. The local term has also been added as 'Phanek; Mayek Naibi' based on this research, with Phanek being the word for skirt and Mayek Naibi the word for a skirt worn on more formal occasions.
