Letter in MAA Archives from Franca Vincent, Exhibit Designer, 21 February, 1989 to Dr Paul Sant Cassia notes, 'As requested, with the £120. that I was granted by the Museum, I have purchased for the Museum's collection two terracotta presepe from San Gregorio Armeno, Napoli, The cost of the artefacts are as follows:
carmello (camel) cost £60,000 lira = £30 British sterling
veditriche de divadura (vendor of vegetable) cost £180,000 lira = £90 British sterling
I was assisted with the purchasing the presepe by Dr Stefano Mazzoleni and Sr Umberto de Gregorio.'
