They are possibly from central Australia.
There was an earlier suggestion that these ornaments were actually those which had been accessioned as 1923.1493 A-B. This seems unlikely, given the discrepancy in the measurements for both sets of ornaments

Description (CMS Description)
Catalogue card noted 'Two wooden head ornaments, with shavings to form curls. They may be worn at a " Kurdaitcha" expedition or on some other ceremonial occasion'.

All items associated with kurdaitcha are ceremonial items and are therefore classed as secret/sacred material, and should not be shown to Indigenous Australian women without warning them first.
