Context (Auction / Sale)
Attached to the statue is a label that reads: 'very fine Fragment of a schist Osiride Figure from [missing]... 6 1/2 in. high'. This seems likely to have come from a sales catalogue, and it is likely the number written in red underneath '1431' could be the sales number.

Description (Physical description)
A: Finely carved Osiride torso, head and lower body broken away. Figure holds a flail in one hand and a detailed collar.
B: Statue set into a wood base, supported by cork. Into the front of the stand is set a faience mummy scarab with piercings to attach to mummy wrappings.
