Context (Analysis)
Malim and Hines note that the buckle's design is 'distinctly reminiscent of a group of 7th century buckles from Kent' but that the 'size, shape and dimensions of the Foxton buckle could, however, fit in a late Migration Period context, while the fish motif can also be paralleled with earlier 7th century artefacts...'
