'LONDON SCHOOL OF WEAVING' has been stamped into the handle of each paddle.
Both paddles are marked in black pen in the top left corner on the back: one paddle reads 'LEFT', the other reads 'RIGHT'.
Both paddles have a marking in pencil in the top right corner on the back, reading 'Arkman' [?]

Description (Physical description)
Pair of carding paddles or combs made of wood with metal hooks attached to a pieces of hide. Each paddle consists of a rectangle of wood with a handle, onto which is nailed a rectangle of hide with thin metal hooks projecting from it and bent at a downwards angle towards the handle. The hide is held in place with further strips of hide and nails on three edges, with the top edge held in place with a strip of metal and nails.
