Context (Field collection)
Alison Waru was part of the Toi Hauiti delegation that celebrated the closing of MAA's Pasifika Styles exhibition. Toi Hauiti is a working group of the Aitanga-a-Hauiti Charitable Trust, a Maori tribal organization based in Uawa (Tolaga Bay) on the East Coast of New Zealand.

'Maori in Cambridge' was painted in Cambridge in February and was intended for sale at the Pacific Craft market, part of the closing Festival in the Museum, which featured Maori Weaving Demonstrations, as well as a display of Maori Weaponry and Artist Talks. She continues to exhibit as an artist in New Zealand.
