Description

Lead crest of Anatole von Hügel in high relief with dark green fabric adhered to reverse. This was probably once part of a drainpipe but later repurposed, perhaps as a paperweight. Crest shows a double headed bird, each head wearing a crown and wings spread wide open. Body of bird has circular shapes representing feathers and taloned feet. Corded pattern runs along the top and bottom. Some small dents in surface.

This lead crest is identical to those on the lead drainpipes on the exterior of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, which was opened in 1913.
