Wooden box, containing various artist' s materials. Four brushes. Role of paper. Palette for grinding ink. Silver coloured ?water pot in shape of an animal. Indentations in floor of box to hold palette and water pot. Box lid cracked.

Description (Physical description)
Grinding slab or palette, possibly made out of soaptone (steatite). Dark brown in colour with a sloping recess in the centre of the upper surface. There is some loss present to the sides. On the reverse, in red pigment, are several symbols in a Japanese script.
