Description (Physical description)
Red, orange and black lacquer box, with false bottom. Interior in black lacquer. Contains various artist's materials. Two palettes for grinding ink, one being smaller than the other. Four brushes, two with guards to protect the bristles. Two blocks of ink, one red with gold lettering and one black. Unidentified, hollow, metal object, with two small holes and raised pattern of waves and writing.

Description (Physical description)
Palette, made of slate with a varnished, wooden lid. Used for grinding ink, with some remnants of black pigment remaining on the surface. The edge of the slate is decorated with swirls and wave patterns. On the base of the palette is a paper label with four Chinese symbols written on the surface.
