Context (Analysis)
The Portable Antiquities report includes the following discussion: 'Small, cut or broken sections of flange twisted torc are relatively common finds in England. Most have four ‘arms’, but several examples found by metal detecting have had only three. They are also known as complete torcs with trumpet shaped terminals. Its size, shape and character are typical of the period and of English finds, as is the compositional analysis (especially the Ag:Cu ratio).'
