Description (Physical description)
Figure, carved from a convoluted tree root. This example shows an old man with a very long beard, which is being held in between the two forefingers of his p. left hand. The lower half of the figure and the robes is created from the natural knot of the wood. The surface appears to have been stained dark brown.
