Context (Amendments / updates)
According to the Accession register, E 1901.131 should only be a group of 4 baskets (A-D) but there are currently 7 recorded as E 1901.131 A-G. This is because at a later date, a group of seven baskets was formed and accessioned as Z 5852 A-G. E 1901.131 was incorporated into that group and this IDNO was later applied to the whole group. It is currently impossible to tell which of the four baskets were the original E 1901.131 A-D. A seems to bear a older kind of label which has been corrected to accommodate the larger group so may have been the original E 1901.131 A. The basket currently recorded as E 1901.131 F bears the original collector's label so is likely to have been part of the original E 1901.131 A-D group. The incorrect E 1901.131 A-G numbering has been retained until further research can tackle this numbering problem.
