Description (Physical description)
Paper and wooden models for burning at funerals in order to give the dead the use of the articles in the other world. They comprise a lantern, a table, a pair of shoes and one odd shoe, five cut out garments, three cut out figures, a fan, nine coins, a pair of scissors, a packet of joss sticks, a prayer sail and five unidentified objects.

Context (Found together / assemblage)
These items are all believed to be from the same collection (ie. that donated by Blaikie), although they were found later among the Folklore Collection. According to the description on the catalogue card, this collection is supposed to include an opium smoker' s kit (including pipe, lamp cleaners. tray and boxes of opium), shoe, heels and bandages for a woman' s bound feet and a " shoe" or ingot of silver. These items may be those which remain unidentified or may have gone missing (Alison McKeating, 12 1 1994)

Description (Physical description)
Paper robe and matching trousers, used in funerary rites as a gift for the deceased to use in the afterlife. The robe is blue in colour with long sleeves and black fastening loops detailed on the front of the robe. Matching trousers are the same blue with a white band on the top of the trousers.
