Information extracted from the original Context field dated the material to various dates; ?9th century-?3rd century BC, 11th-?4th century BC, and 1000-300 BC. The Period field stated 'Meroitic' which shall remain at present. More investigation of the material will have to be undertaken to fully assess and date the objects.

Context (Analysis)
In March 2019, Dr. Isabelle Vella Gregory studied the Jebel Moya figurines at MAA. She provided measurements and new dating of this material but could not identified the animal. The Period field previously stated 'Meroitic' but since Dr Gregory's analysis this has been updated to 'Stratum A; c. 750 - 1BC; Napatan and Meroitic'. Information regarding her analysis can be found in the archive, Doc.491.
