Description (Physical description)
Sheath/staff for the sword stick 1923.61.1. The length of the staff is made from wood, which has been lacquered with alternating red, black and yellow bands with detailed triangular patterns and shapes highlighted in yellow. The end of the staff has been shaped to a point, and left plain - possibly to allow for something socketed to be placed here [not present]. The opposing end of the shaft is flattened with a rectangular slot, which would allow the blade to be secured into the object.
