Description
Large rectangular wooden cabinet decorated with straw marquetry in geometric patterns. Mounted on four round carved bone feet and also has a bone catch carved in the shape of a leaf. Has two doors at the front which open onto a panelled 'room' behind glass, lined with straw marquetry and three mirrors.

Although this object's entry in the 1915 Annual Report is under 'France', the description goes on to add 'French prisoners' straw-work'. This probably refers to the French prisoners of war at Norman Cross, and indeed in the 1985 loan paperwork to Peterborough Museum 1915.92 is included in the Norman Cross Collection.
