Handwritten label adhered to the back of the print reads: 'HANUMAN carrying / SRI RAMA (right) / and his brother / LAKSHMAN'. Postscript: 'C&D I.H.N. Evans, 1920'.

Description (Physical description)
Poster or printed page of the Hindu deity 'Hanuman', who is shown flying through the sky carrying Rama (blue skin) and his brother Lakshmana on his shoulders. Hanuman is shown with the face and tail of a monkey and is depicted wearing a yellow textile around his waist and a red shawl around his shoulders. Rama and Lakshmana are both wearing yellow textiles around the waist and both are aiming a bow and arrow to the left of the print. This is a scene from the epic tale the Ramayana. This print is one of twenty-three coloured glossy printed pages of deities from the text by Raja Ravi Varma, "Gods of India".
